Q: puppy only poops inside?

October 9, 2010 | By Mickielester | 4 answers | Expired: 970 days ago

I swear that every time i let our puppy outside, no matter how long or what time of day, it will proceed to poop as soon as it comes back inside. I am so frustrated and need help. Thanks

You just have to work with him. All puppies are different it took our dog about a year to learn. REmember to reward or give love to him when he does go. GoodLuck!

don't use puppy pads. this is a confusing step for dogs that is often ineffective and encourages dogs to go INSIDE on whatever they perceive as a mark. it also adds a greater level of difficulty to getting them to go outdoors.
what you'll want to do is walk or run or play w/your puppy while they're outside. this will stimulate their bowels. when they do go, praise them for it. dogs learn fastest when you reward those good behaviors {and not when you punish the bad}.

My puppy did that at first when I just let him outside. I would recommend a puppy potty pad if the problem persists. That is what a friend recommended for me but it didn't work for my puppy. With Baxter, he would just sit outside until I let him come back in and once he came in he would go to the bathroom. I found out, however, if I just walked him around the block once or twice, he would do both of his businesses during that walk, almost like he just needed to work it out of his system. Hope this helps!
