Carolyn this made me laugh. My mom and I are always talking about situations like yours with our pets. I think it's just like kids - there is always going to be the assertive and the passive ones and it's just the way life goes. If they don't fight than that is the way they have their pecking order set up and probably you feel sorry for your min pin and he may not feel sorry for himself. Have fun with them and let the chips fall where they may to some degree! At least that is what I think!

It sounds like your chihuahua is the alpha dog and the min pin is submissive to it. (You know how dogs are pack animals and they each have their own ranking in the pack.) The best thing I can think of is if your chihuahua sees you as the alpha dog above him then he'll do what you want and if you show him you want the min pin to have the toy then he'll follow your lead. Good luck.

That happens with our pit who is 8 months old and our german shepard/chow mix, who is 4 yrs. Jack-Jack(pit)will take all the toys away from Zoe and only if its one of her "babies" she has had out during the night will she fight for it. Other wise she just lets Jack-Jack take all the toys. We take Zoe out side or put Jack-Jack out so Zoe gets some play time with us and her toys. You may want to try this.
