I wonder if anybody has had experience with pt movers or flying animals across the country. I will be moving to Denver, Colorado in January and want to bring 3 cats with me.

I have flown with my cat before...I bought her a ticket and she traveled under the seat in her carrier. I wouldn't feel comfortable putting them with the cargo. I would be afraid that they would be too stressed out. I've also driven from Virginia to Colorado with a cat in the car...that went pretty well. I had some Kitty Valium in case she needed it...but she did OK without it. There are lots of hotels now that allow pets, too, so that made it convenient, too. She loved the hotels...lots of smells! Of course, you have to be careful of any hiding places. Good Luck!

I drove from North Dakota to Oklahoma with nine cats and an overactive 8 year old boy and we all survived just fine! My family was so worried about me driving with all the cats, and I was a little nervous too, but it went very well. I had the cats all in carriers, some alone, others together. I had some medication along in case anyone got too nervous. I gave my former feral cat, Chance, a pill once, because out of all the cats he was the most nervous. I subjected all of them to 80's music to keep me awake. For the most part the cats were quiet (unlike my child) they would meow when I stopped for gas or something to eat and then would complain for a few minutes when I started driving again. They ate very little and drank very little. We stopped and spent the night about half way to Oklahoma. The place we stopped said they allowed pets, but the guy at the front desk nearly wouldn't let us stay when I said we had cats and a dog (my husband had the dog). I didn't tell him exactly how many cats I had and they stayed in their kennels for the most part. The worst part of the trip was that it got quite warm by the time we reached Oklahoma and that's what stressed the cats more than anything. I think with a little preparation and the proper equipment it is no problem to travel with cats or dogs. I thought about flying mine to Oklahoma, but because of the number cost was an issue and I felt more comfortable having them with me so I knew how they were doing.

I have driven cross country with cats secured in their carrier. I would stop periodically and let the cat stretch about in the car--get water etc. and then off we would go again.
I have also flown animals with me and have never had any problems. Just make sure you check with the airlines in advance and that you meet all their requirements. You must have a current health certificate for each animal.
Happy travels!
