I have to mini Dashunds that hate having their nails trimmed. I saw they carry them at walgreens but, was curious before shelling out the money . Are they worth it does your pet really hold still well enough to make it worth the 20.00.

It depends on the dog and how they deal with noises, mine gets nervous when my cell phone vibrates--forget a powered nail grinder. That said, Pedi-paws is very cheaply made and not worth the money, you can get a Dremel for about the and there is an attachment for them to catch the filings.
Since my dog doesn't like the noises I just use a regular fingernail file on him after his nails are trimmed with a regular trimmer, smooths out the nails without stressing me or the do out.

I bought this for my 2 large dogs and I tried it for about 30 seconds and never used it again. They started pulling away and yelped. I think it hurt them.

Hi there! .. are you talking about the electric trimmer? ... if that is the case than you should know that it does have some soft noise that might make the dog a little nervous but the more you use it, the more they are relaxed .. still they might want to pull away but you must be patient ... get someone to give the dog tiny bits of treats while you trim the doggies' nail ... makes it a little easier ... its a great item but you need patience also! ... I know this because I use it for my two puppies!
