Q: Only play fetch with one person?!

This morning my nephew and I were playing fetch with the dogs. Fresco wanted to play, but would not even chase after the toy if my nephew threw it. Ruxbin of course would bring it to my nephew (as he was standing slightly in front) and play no matter who was throwing it. I have never seen a dog not play when they wanted to or care who they brought the toy to! Thoughts?

fresco may not have the respect for your nephew as he does you. especially if he is a submissive dog, he will look up to whomever he sees as alpha and may see your nephew as being below you. try getting your nephew to teach him a command, using some tasty treats as the reward/bribe. when someone can tell a dog what to do, it increases the dogs respect for them.
