Staying at home and enjoying time with my hubby and my 8 fur kids! And, we can't leave out my most dreaded task...the litter box scooping, laundry, and that's about it besides yahooing with my BFF and coming on the zoo!

Stayed home with the family. Had cheese and crackers and watched a three stooges marathon. The kids loved it,.

The kids have to work a few hours here and there, but my hubby and I plan to take it easy...except for a few chores, etc. Even our meals will be fairly easy meals (favorite one being hearty tortellini soup). Best wishes to you and yours for a happy, healthy new year! :-)

I do not know if it is another year older and appreciating the sleep, but I stayed home with my furry loved ones, and enjoyed hot tea before turning in under a compfy quilt since it was 18 degrees last night, and of course the pugs and bostie have to hunker under it so it is nice and toasty. I babysat my grand doggy since his daddy went out to friends. It just makes since to stay home and play it safe, not worth the risk or chance of all the crazies out there and I can enjoy the comforts of what we work so hard for, home and furry friends. happy new year all, hope it is safe for each of you, thought i was just getting a year older and a year towards beign an old f-a-r-t.

We stayed home. We made a platter of cheeses, crackers, fruit & other appetizer-type foods, opened a bottle of wine, put a fire in the fireplace & snuggled in on the sofa with the furbabies. We rented a movie & also watched the New York & Dallas New Year's celebrations on tv. We also nibbled on Italian Cream cake, apple pie & homemade chocolate candy all day. As far as I'm concerned, it was a perfect New Year's!

i got invited to a little New Year's Eve shindig amongst a bunch of local animal welfare volunteers, but...well, my hubby didn't seem comfortable with the idea (he doesn't know most of them and, despite being a ham, is somehow "shy"), and besides, i'm not too keen on being on the roads / away from home on new year's eve because of all of the drunks on the roads, plus i like to be home with my critters in case the fireworks noise scares them. my husband's grandparents are in town, we had dinner with them and some of his family earlier but headed home by 8. since then, we've been holed up at home, watching TV, playing video games...wanting to gauge out my eyes since i saw Jennifer Lopez in that creepy sparkly bodysuit. had some tasty sparkling grape drink at midnight...my husband spilled some on a sheet of paper and then thought it would be a good idea to microwave it to dry it off. and now i'm researching graphite. it's the stuff that's commonly called "lead" in pencils, in some instances it's also used as a lubricant...it's pure carbon, just like a diamond. one thing i didn't know about graphite, though, is that it's electrically conductive, which would explain why the parts of the paper that had been written on with pencil immediately burst into flames.

ya live, ya learn. happy 2010.
