Q: New Rat

I am getting a new Rattie, Templeton. He is a single rat, and I have decided to keep it that way because he was never social, I heard. I have never owended a rat before, but I am getting into the hobby. What is the Best way to welcome him into my home, what is the best rat food, that things. Please awenser!

hi templeton welcome to the zoo. my way to welcome them is always with lots of love and trust. have fun. they are very smart

I always fed mine an approved pre-packaged 'lab chow'. But I also gave them table scraps - not much mind you, but rats eat anything. Give them a small sampling of veggies, bread, meat, cheese, whatever they like along with the packaged diet.
