Q: my zootoo cat breeds
June 7, 2008 | By Catndogmom | 5 answers | Expired: 1792 days ago
I was able to select "mutt" to describe my dog. How come I have to select a breed for my long haired black cat? I mean, he's just a cat, why must I pretend he's something else? Why not have "breed" listings for domestic short hair and domestic long hair?

I agree that Domestic Short/Medium/Long haired should be on the breed list!

The same here I have a bird Yellow Nape Amazon and the only birds that are listed are not domestic ones. I couldn't list her.

I think that domestic (or american) short hair (DSH), domestic long hair (DLH), etc. is the term for a "mutt" when it comes to cats......this is more of my opinion based on other websites that I have been to for shelters, etc.

I've noticed that they have left a lot of breeds of animals out. I had the same problem with my cat, and I also have three fire-bellied toads, which is not listed on there. I wish that it wasn't required to put the breed.

I noticed that too. Mine is a mutt cat as well and thought they should have a listing for mutt cats. So now I have an american shorthair. :)
