my mini lop hates being held, and being on his back. If yours is like mine, try wrapping him in a blanket and taking out one foot at a time. That's what I do :)

by gently positioning your bunny onto his back and rubbing him down his stomach, he will go into a bit of a trance.
the trick to trimming any animals nails is to take it very slow the first several times and to do it often. instead of clipping his nails short and then not repeating it for weeks to come, trim them just a little two times a week so he get's use to being clipped. try to do one nail here and another there b/c when you try to do all of them quickly w/a scared animal, you're only frightening them more. spend a lot of time just touching/holding his paws while you're petting w/him. he'll be less afraid of clippers if he's used to being handled this way.

I do the same as passion4pasos. The only thing I would add is, try putting a towel or t-shirt over your bunny's eyes, this seems to calm down my rabbit. Once you cover their eyes they have no choice but to submit and be calm.

My rabbit is more relaxed when i trim her nails laying on her back. make sure your rabbit is comfrotable lying down and talk calmly. i used to have a problem trimming my rabbits nails too but this helped a lot. if all else fails, take him to a vet or groomer to help. good luck :)
