Gleek is a stray female cat that recently showed up around my house a couple weeks ago she loves attention and seems to like me but she seems to be scarred of very common objects. Such as wheel barrows, sneakers, the sound that the rocks in the alley make when you walk over them, Is this normal? Also what can I do about her fears?

It's very common, especially for the newcomers. Imagine being new to an area and being outside on your own. It takes awhile to learn what each new sound is and which ones to be afraid of. For most cats, it's their knee-jerk reaction to jump to fear. Cats have sensitive nervous systems that help keep them safe in vulnerable situations. The longer she's there, the more she'll recognize these sounds and learn to differentiate between them. I wouldn't work with her at all while she's outside. That fear is what will help keep her alert and alive.
