My dog was overweight when we first got her. We didn't use any diet pills. We just cut her food in half and went for walks, running, and bike rides. I'd try that first. I don't see why dogs need diet pills, they just need exercise :)

I have a dog that struggles with weight especially in the winter when he doesn't get as much exercise. We use iams weight control for him and it has really worked great. He was around 100lbs and now is in the mid 80s. How much are you feeding? We feed about 3/4 of a quart jar per day. Doesn't really look like much but he has actually gotten more energy and lost weight since we started really cutting him back.

put her on a light formula and give him lots of exercise.
