I have a Bichon, and it seems like i have to constantly give him a bath. He is white and is very hard to keep his coat clean. What should i do?

Unfortunately white dogs show the dirt quicker. You can try brushing him more to get the loose dirt out Dont wash him to much you will dry his skin and coat out. I am a dog groomer and you should only be washing him about every 6 weeks or so. No more than that The pet stores sell a dry shampoo that may help you out some.

brush him daily and if you have to, wipe him down lightly w/a damp cloth.

I know of Bichons who had to be bathed every few days...they just have that kind of coat. I would brush him daily (its good practice to prevent matting anyhow) and bathe him once a week if needed. A lot of the shampoos now are so mild. Show dogs are bathed every week when they are campaigned and they obviously have nice coats.
