If it is an adult tooth definately make a vet visit. Bacteria, pain, and general discomfort can lead to lack of appetite, infection, and other serious medical problems. Be safe and have it examined!

see your vet. bacteria that enters through the gums gets into the bloodstream and can be fatal. i lost a greyhound to renal failure b/c of bad teeth, greyhounds are notorious for bad teeth, and this was right after she had $500 worth of work done on them. brushing your dogs teeth is just as important as brushing your own. dental wipes are the easiest way to start your dog on a dental hygiene routine, but you should talk to your vet first and foremost. for pain, you can give your dog a childrens aspirin - and only childrens aspirin.

What type of dog is Dharma? How old is she? was it a baby tooth? Does she has lots of tartar on her remaining teeth? If so it would be best for her to be brought to your vet and have a dental done. Plaque and tartar buildup can cause quite a few health problems....if she is an older dog and you get her teeth cleaned you will see a wonderful improvement in her overall well being. :)

You may want to contact your vet. You don't want an infection getting in there and Darla may need to have the vet look to see if everything else is alright. Is she in any pain? She may need a painkiller and/or antibiotics depending on what the vet finds.
