It sounds like your kitty wants you to play with her or maybe just some one-on-one attention. My cats do this when I try to read. They will lay right on the book or newspaper. It's their way of saying, "Notice ME!"

My cat does the same thing. In his case I think it's just that he wants to be near me and then when I start moving my hand on the mouse he thinks it is a fun game :)

haha, I know a few cats that do this.
Estimated cat thought process:
She is giving that thing (mouse) right there attention.
I want attention...
If I lay right there...
*lick/ bite* ATTENTION PLEASE!!!!!!!
~Its pretty endearing if ya ask me ;P

My cat does the same thing and I think she is just trying to get me to quit and pay attention to her.

He is telling you he needs your full undivided attention. Get a string and play for a few minutes and go back.

It sounds like he's probably lonely and wants some attention. My cats will get between me and my monitor, or else walk on the keyboard when they want my attention.

I think he is just playing with you, my cat plays with the curser.
