Q: long tangled hair after brushing wheatin mix

My dogs hair is impossible .I cant use any dog brushes they dont go all the way threw the fur,I have to use a really nice human natural bristle brush.I brush him at least 3 times a week .It never fails there will be matts in his fur .He really has a problem under his collar .His fur is like a soft caoted wheatins.Is there anything special I can buy

Try a med. toothed comb & maybe talk to your Vet's Tech., they have fur that unless you know how to do it should go to a groomer, I'm talking about the Wheaten side, don't know what the other part is.

You might try some childrens "no more tangles" on him although I would put a little on a small area first to make sure he doesn't have a reaction to it.....Best of luck.

Get a good detangle spray and mist his coat before you brush. For mats try a firm slicker brush to gently break up the matts. As far as getting down to the skin, you want to line brush meaning part the hair in a section and brush at the part and continue all throughout the coat. Also invest in a good greyhound comb to check for snarls. With that kind of coat it is normal to expect a lot of brushing to keep from tangles. The other option is to consider a shorter clip that might be easier for you to maintain.
