my 3 yr. yorkie is constantly scratching, and she even comes to me to scratch her back. she gets 1/2 a benadryl a day and oatmeal shampoo baths. I put 1 tbls. olive oil on her food a day trying to add moisture to her skin. any suggestions?

try a mite spray on the coat. Be VERY careful if the vet gives him mite medicine because it is poison and too much will kill your pet. A dip is helpful too but don't let the face get any dip on it.

My Buddy was exactly the same way. I had allergy testing done and found out he was allergic to over 10 different things in his diet and environment. He now gets allergy shots to build immunity against these and is slowly improving. I guess it can take quite awhile to build the immunity and eventually he will not need the shots and his allergies will be gone!

Try putting some of the frontline plus flea stuff she might have a flea problem that is what I use on my Skitters. When she has that problem it works great and lasts longer than it is sopose to.

I would suggest getting a test for food allergies. My dog had problems for 13 years and when I changed vets they did a simple $60 blood test and I found out her food allergies and changed her diet and it changed her life!!! I can get you the name of the testing lab in CA if you want.

I'd take her to the vet. It could be mites, fleas, allergy or a number of other things. Baths and olive oil won't take care of those.
