Q: is this true?

I have heard that the breed of dog known as the Besnji is completeley mute no vioce at all is this true I would really like to know?

They do not bark like most dogs but do make yelp or whine which is more annoying than a real dog bark.

Absolutely not true! They do not "bark" however, they can scream, whine, kind of howl, etc. Many Basenjis make nore noise than regular dogs do... they tend to be extremely vocal with what they have to work with. And they are loud!

lol live next door to one for five minutes and you'll get a great big personal "I will not be silencenced!!" in dog speak

Absolutely incorrect. Basenjis don't "bark" the way other dogs do, but they chirp, whistle, whine, and scream like nothing you've ever heard before. A very interesting primative breed, they are certainly not for everyone.

They don't have a regular dog's bark, but they do make a " noise".

A former neighbor had several Basenji dogs, I never heard them but my friend who lived next-door ton the dog run side, said they did make a noise but not a loud one.

No, it is not true! They have a voice. It is kind of like a yodel because of the shape of their larnyx. They are known as the Barkless Dog for this reason. Here is a link so that you can learn more: www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basenji
