It is NOT an American Eskimo. My dog, Idgie, was an AE cross and was a LOT smaller and different then your dog. It looks like a husky mix, though. I think huskies are decended from wolves, but I'm not really sure. Anyway, why does it matter? If it's a wolf, and friendly, then that's perfectly okay! Also, I would contact the breeder to have a long talk--if they were lying about it being a pure-bred American Eskimo, then that is serious.

a genitic test is a good idea. But if your dog is not a white alaskan wolf it must be one of these breeds! Siberian husky, alaskan malamute, american eskimo or a mixed mutt. Your dog is not a purebred american eskimo though because I have done research on them and my dad has one and he has her papers for dog shows. she is pure white and medium sized and other than that she looks like a bigger version of the pomerianian. My bet would be that she is a mixed breed of the american eskimo and the siberian husky and if all of her teeth are very pionty and sharp then she most likely has some alaskan wolf in her too.

My guess is she's not -- more than likely an American Eskimo dog -- they are normally all white and medium sized. She may have some German Shepard in there too giving her those pointy ears. Its hard to judge her size on in that picture. Wolf-hybrids are typically the size of a wolf , especially the males. Plus they exhibit alot of thier wild ancestor's traits -- they howl, they act like a wolf (I can't think of another way to describe it). They will push you to see who's dominant and establish a pack hierachy. There is a noticiable difference in wolf-hybrids and a domesticated dog -- you'd know!!

I reeeeally don't think your dog is a wolf hybrid. Hybrids are fairly rare.

Your dog is really pretty but she does not appear to be a wolf-hybrid. A wolf hybrid would have a much larger build than your dog has.

back around hurricane Gustav last year, some folks across the street from my grandparents evacuated to Baton Rouge from further south and brought their "dog" Spirit with them. Spirit was literally 75% wolf. one parent was known to be 100% wolf, the other was 1/2 wolf, 1/2 husky or Eskimo dog or some breed along those lines...can't remember which. in any case, while your dog is very pretty and certainly looks a lot more like a wolf than a lot of dogs do, she really doens't look like the wolf-dog that i met.

i think the only way for you to find out for sure is to do a genetic test. that would be able to tell you for sure
