Q: Is it true they want to put down more Wild Mustangs?
I heard someone on the news say because of the ecomony people aren't able to adopt animals and there are so many wild mustangs the government doesn't have the funds for food, they are considering putting alot of the horses down. Is this true?

Yes, I heard the same. They should be able to find alternatives to this at least that is what I want to believe. I have a mustang myself and to think they would just kill them it is terrible.

Yes, it is true that the BLM has proposed euthanizing several thousand wild mustangs currently in holding facilities. Here is an excellent article with more information about the real reasons behind it:

This ais an ongoing problem with the BLM. There are many rescue groups that deal with the plight of wild mustangs, and burros are targets, too. You can 'google' for some of these rescue groups if you'd like to help. THe HSUS also has a fund specifically for legislative cases. You can also write your congressman or woman.
