Q: Is it safe to travel with a parakeet?

For an overnight trip, I wouldn't bother. Just add extra food and water. I used to take my cockatiels with us when we would visit family out of state. I'd strap their cages with the seat belts and keep a towel over the cages while they were in the car. They did fine.

No birds were not meet to travel like that.

Birds are so easily stressed, I would definitely not travel with your bird.
