Q: Is it safe to feed my guinea pig hamster food?
I accidentally bought the wrong kind of food. Before i return it i wanted to make sure that it wouldn't be a waste of time....so can i feed my guinea pig hamster/gerbil food, or is there i big difference between hamster and guinea pig food?

No, guinea pigs cannot eat hamster food, rabbit food, or anything besides guinea pig food. They also cannot eat guinea pig food that has any colored bits, seeds etc. They can choke on seeds, peanuts are poisonous, and nothing else in that mix is healthy. They also won't be getting the Vitamin C they need without guinea pig pellets.
Also, guinea pigs require constant timothy hay to keep their digestive systems running smoothly. They need to eat fresh vegetables daily, such as romaine lettuce, red bell pepper, baby carrots, cucumber, brocolli, celery, etc. Fruits can be fed once or twice a week as treats.
They cannot eat any beans, nuts, iceberg lettuce, grapes, unknown wild plants, bread, meats, or anything processed besides their pellets.
