My step dads dog is literally so stubborn he recently dropped 10 pounds because he refused to eat the food Todd bought for him. Try a new food if the dog is losing weight, otherwise she's probably fine

If your dog is at a good weight it's eating enough. Some dogs seen to have a built in weight control. They eat just what they need to stay at a healthy weight ( wish i did). Dogs that are like that live longer with no weight related problems. One of my dogs is like that. If she's really active that day, she eats. If she lays around all day, like a rainy day, then she does'nt. If you haven't already, have your vet check her out. If she's healthy, then I wouldn't worry. Also try measuring her food and then measure again at the end of the day and see if any is missing.

Sometimes it helps to mix not only the food up, but the way in which you feed it to the dog. Sometimes we'll feed our dogs using Kongs stuffed with their dinner (one gets a raw diet from Natures Variety, the other gets a mix of Natures Variety Instinct dry and Freshpet Select). The Kongs or any kind of treat ball stuffed with the dogs dinner makes it more interesting and also makes them spend some of that mental energy eating instead of going after your favorite pair of sneakers :)

My dog did the same. Sometimes they get tired of the same food and stop eating it. If you give them other dog food they eat it the first time then the next the leave it alone. What we do is we leave the food alone but we heat it up once in a while after half an hour after his normal feeding time he'll eat it because he knows he won't eat anything else.

Is your dog loosing weight? Has this been like this since you have had her - some dogs just dont have much of an appetite. I have a friend who has a dog who doesnt eat alot - here are some things you can do. First of all some dogs if they are excited or think they are missing something by eating.. put them in a confined area while eating - maybe a crate... also try changing the food - not just once but a bunch of times - you might find a food your dog really likes. If your dog isnt loosing any weight i wouldnt worry about it as long as she IS eating. It could also be a medical problem or sore tooth so i would check her mouth to make sure that her mouth is okay - if she backs away from you when she normally wouldnt... she might have a bad tooth and you would have to take her to the vets. Good Luck

sometimes ours have done this. We went to california on vacation once and they didnt eat for about 4 days and then they started to eat again, so when they get hungry they will eat, unless something is wrong. If there haven't been major changes in daily routine they may not be feeling well in that case I would check to see if they are drinking, It is important that your pet get enough fluid, just like people they need to drink enough water. If not I suggest a trip to the vet as we have found that if they are NOT drinking then there is usually some illness involved.

You havent said how much your dog weighs, is it a good weight? What most people think the healthy weight for their pet is , actually is too much. You also didnt mention how much (in cups) your dog eats daily, and what kind of food. Average feeding is 1 cup/30 lbs of body weight, adjust as needed for each individual dog. Check with your vet, find out if your dog is a healthy weight, and feed using common sense.

It depends. Did any thing change in her environment lately? Is there anything different happening? It may just be a phase... But how long has it been going on? If It goes on any more than a good couple months or if she starts to lose major weight you should call your vet. But it is probably just a phase.

How long has this been going on? My dog every so often doesn't eat all of her food, but I probably overfeed her, my vet once told me a dog will not overeat...

My answer to you though is I would surely ask your vet!
