Q: is it normal for my golden to be exausted after a 5 block walk?

she seems to have alot of energy, but when i walk her after a while she collapses. she is 5 months old.

No one has mentioned it so has she been checked for a heart murmur? It is a condition Goldens can have and it can cause tiredness. Most heart murmurs don't cause much of a problem but I would have her checked if it hasn't been done already.

puppies are tricky, they get bursts of energy then they get some exercise then collapse. puppies need to take periodic naps. Don't worry it's completely normal.

how long and challenging are her walks? at her age, she should be able to keep up a steady, but not too brisk pace for 45 minutes, or a brisk 30 minute walk. you should have both her heart and hips checked. golden retrievers commonly have hip dysplasia and heart problems, both can be problematic at such a young age.
