Is it healthy to bring my cat in the shower with me?

My cat absolutely loves it when I bring him in the shower with me and I do it often. What I want/need to know is is it healthy to have the warm water running on him even when I have his ears coverd?

I do not believe it is bad for your munchkin as long as you don't get soap or shampoo on him.

I think it's pretty kewl~

I wouldn't worry about your drains (AHEM! ) Humans shed HAIR too and they cause drain to clog. They just are too purrrfect to admit it!

I am not a cat expert, but I don't see why you can't let the cat in the shower with you. After all, SOME cats actually LIKE the water and SWIM! I would avoid human shampoo as it might be drying to your cat's skin. Use cat shampoo instead or just let him sit in the shower if he likes it...also, be careful about the water temperature - don't let it get too warm. Have fun! I can't even get my DOG to go into the shower!

I am a groomer and it is perfectly fine to shower with your cat, mine takes a bath with my daughter at least 2-3 times a week, he will be just fine and if he enjoys it then have fun. yes his hair MAY clogg your drains but it would have to be a lot of hair not just a little. have fun with your cat.

I don't see why it would be a problem. I would just be careful in the winter that he doesn't get chilled. I would also be careful not to get human soap on him, other that that go for it!

If your cat is an indoor cat with all the proper shots, I don't see why not, if he is outside without all the proper shots & fronline that you get from the Vet according to weight I don't see a problem, it probably the same as having your cat or dog sleep with you.

If your cat likes which is pretty strange then I don't see why it would be harmful?? In the winter or if it's cold, your cat might not get dry, and get chilled? Indeed the hair factor is something to think about. But I think human hair clogs drain just as readily as any cat hair that might wash off during your shower. Human shampoo is not recommend for cats, so avoid shampoo or soaps...but water....go for it!!!
