I'm careful not to give them too much but I've been told by my vet that it will not harm them. Let them enjoy from time to time. It also has no affect on my dog at all.

I read somewhere that if cats have too much catnip, they will get high. But I haven't had any exp. w/ cats myself, so I'm not entirely sure.

We've used catnip for different reasons-from training them to claw on a scratching post, and just for fun! I've also put it in a cat hammock to get them to try it out-once they got in and had catnip in it-they liked it. I also put their toys in a bag of it and shook them around-it peaks their interest in old toys.

Catnip is just a natural herb, its not dangerous at all. Actually, people can make tea from it and its very healthy. It is funny to watch cats with it. I dont think it would have any effect on dogs. It never did with my dogs.

I have never heard of any dangers with the use of catnip. I choose not to give this to my cat, simply because she is already wound tight and I'm afraid she might hurt herself. She isn't missing out cause she has plenty to keep her happily purring.

I used an old cloth placemat and undid an end so that I could put catnip in it and the cats love it because they curl up and can bunch it up and enjoy themselves.

my mom grows catnip in her garden and that was my casey's favorite place. my other cat loves it, we have a little pillow full of it and when little miss lays her head on it it seems to relax her. just make sure you don't give them too much..and fresh seems to be best of you can.

My husband accidentally left the cat nip bag out one night and the cats got into it and ATE IT ALL. They survived, so I am pretty sure they can't overdose on it.
