Your cat is not old, but he is an adult. Cats do not age as humans do. I have a friend whose cat is 19 and that cat is old.

Average life span for an indoor cat is 15-20 years. Your cats not old. My oldest so far lived to be almost 18. There are cats on record that lived past their 20's. Lot of years still ahead for your cat.

A cat is considered a senior when it is 7 years old. Most indoor cats live to be around 14 or 15 or not older. Your cat isn't old yet. This family member of yours had no business saying that to you. They should be ashamed.

Indoor cats tend to live longer due to less dangers. Take your cat to a Vet. annually and you should enjoy him/her for many years to come.

Cats can live up to 20 years and sometimes longer. Six isn't old at all he's still only an adult. Just take good care of him and he should be around for years to come =).

6 is certainly not old for a cat I have had many who have lived well into their teens my tutty now is 16.5 years old and even though she is thin and frail she is in good health for her age. Ive heard of cats living into their 20's dont worry youhave many, many years as long as you take good care of her.

6 years old is an adult, but its far from old for a cat. cats often live 15-20 years and they have to be at least 7 before they're considered geriatric {which i never understood b/c 7 isn't old either}.
your cat, provided that you take him to a vet soon, will live probably another 10-12 years.
