Q: Information for Cushings Disease in Dogs
Our 7yr old Shih Tzu has just been diagnosed with pituatary dependent cushings disease.Our vet has just put him on a new drug and we are very hopeful.Does anyone have any suggestions based on their own experience.

In Cushing's disease, the dog's body produced too much of a certain hormone. There are two treatments for it, one is called mitotane and the other is trilostane- which is the newest treatment and has been shown to have less side effects than mitotane.
Dogs can do fine with treatment.
