I own 3 cats and love them all. We have a Tuxedo, DSH and Maine Coon. We got the Maine Coon 3 years ago. My husband has always loved those cats. By the way, they are the second most popular cat in the United States.Maine Coons have a reputation of being sweet and loveable. They are also beautiful cats.

A happy healthy one!.................No matter the color, size, shape..........No matter the name whether it is Seal Point or Feral........ just give me a cat that is alive and it will have a loving home forever.

Over the years it seems my favorite cats have been Tuxedo, Siamese or all black but of course they had their own personalities. Both of my last two cats became very into me when my mom became ill and eventually died . Lucy was feral and had a difficult time with closeness but suddenly had to sit touching me. Mia, more my husbands cat, deserted him and tended to me also, gotta love that!

Depends on what you are looking for in a cat...
each one is definitely with a different personality....
I think that all siamese bred cats are better , in my opinion, they are very mild tempered and sweet, and loving...

As far as the best breed in my opinion it would most certainly have to be a Himalayan!!! I had a sealpoint Himalayan and his name was Coco. They generally live up to and over 20 years. Our current Himalayan is Yoda, a lilac point and she'll be 16 in July and she was Coco's littermate. He was the pick of the litter and she was the runt. Coco never ceased to amaze me! He was a ham and whenever company came by he was in the middle of everyone and knew everyone and everyone had to pet him! We had a slumber party when our daughter was younger and the girls were all in the den on a king sized blanket and he was in the middle of all of them! It was truly comical because he had PERSONALITY!

Now, on another note...when you choose a cat, it's more than about breeds. I must mention that Himalayan's are known for being very hard headed so if you can't handle a head strong cat then that breed isn't for you. Back to more...you want a cat that you can hold, cuddle with, sleep with, and most of all that is very loving. If you are fortunate enough to get them at between 6 and 8 weeks old it is best because you can see their personalities and love them enough to discipline them gently and gain their respect in the meantime.

I can honestly say that I don't have a particular favorite. Our DSH, Kittles, is and always has been a bundle of joy! And, I might add that we adopted him from our shelter when he was 4 months old. He is now almost 8 years old. He has added much joy to my husband's and my life together!

The best kind of cat is one that will sit on my lap and purr, that will let me carry and hold it, that has no displays or minimal displays of aggression, that is sociable toward other people and animals, i.e. other cats and dogs. I can't say I have any favorite breed or color. All cats, like all animals are unique. I tend to prefer the friendlier, quiet ones.
