Q: I.D. Cat food
Can you buy (I.D.) cat food in Petco?

Prescription only, so you can only buy through a vets office, however there is an alternative to this diet made by Hi-Tor and you can probly get it ordered through your local independant pet shop, not the big chains like Petco.

Not Petco, unless there's one with a vet onsite, but you can get it at Petsmart, at least the ones that have a Banfield vet clinic and several pet pharmacies online, like NationalPetPharmacy.com. You do have to have a prescription though. Just get your vet to make a copy of the script for you so you can give/send it to whomever you choose.

I haven't used I/D., but have used C/D and K/D. I've purchased them at my vet's office and at Petsmart (that has a Banfield vet in the store), but never seen the prescription Hill's at Petco. I was only able to purchase them at Petsmart because I had a written prescription from my vet. You can probably buy it anywhere that has a vet. You can also get it online as long as you fax or email a copy of your prescription.
