Th Hufmane Society sounds like the best place to help pets.

I would like to encourage you to give to your local animal shelter. Abandoned and homeless pets are the smallest and most vulnerable of all the victims of the economic downturn.

The government is going to bail out every one and every company that is hurting, but it will be up to us to care for the animals.

$250.00 will go a long way in caring for an animal in a shelter. It will provide about 2 months of care for 2 animals including: food, shelter, neuter/spay, medicine, overhead.

Good luck and bless you for thinking about giving your nice award to animals.

I would contact your local humane society. They could give you ideas of what they need most. Things like washer or dryer repair or replacement, pet bedding, food - always food, supplies like paper towels, laundry detergent, hand sanitizer, I could list items forever! Thank you for being so unselfish with your winnings!

I'm sure every shelter on here could use it, but I'd suggest keeping it local unless you know your shelter is for some peculiar reason really, really well funded. And good for you for thinking of the animals first!

I think it's awesome that you want to give away your winnings to help animals. I don't know any shelter that can't use financial help. I recommend that you contact your local shelter and find out if there is something special that they need and that turns out to be something you feel good about, give it to them. Whatever shelter you give it to will be extremely grateful to have such a caring supporter.

I would say the Derby Kansas Humane Society, but it sounds like mabey Orphan Acers really needs it too...hearing the previous comments to your question. Your local one would also greatly appreciate it.

Someone else is always going to need it more. I think you should give it to an organization that you would like to support. I can promise you, no organization is going to turn down $250. BTW, congratulations on your win!

I think it is great to donate to your humane society. Our shelter (Dubuque Regional Humane Society) is in need of some help. It is awesome their but they currently have an overload on cats and dogs and are keeping some at Petsmart do to lack of space. I would choose what you think, but try and help out the more needy.

If you want a shelter that REALLY needs it, Orphan Acres would be perfect. The fencing is really sketchy, and they don't have enough food to get through the winter right now.

I think you should donate to one of yur local animal shelters. The Humane Society does not give money to the rest of the Humane Societies around the nation, so your local Humane Society would be very happy to receive your donation!
