Q: I want to shave my cat like the lion cut but i don't know if it's a good idea

If your cat isnt matted or use to grooming I say dont do it I am a groomer and a cat gets very stressed out quickly. They do not understand the process. If you dont have a experienced groomer they can nick your cat and when a cat gets nicked they split wide open. Because a cat is very thin skinned. So I say is it really worth putting kitty through that?

I haved help lion shave many cats over the years, but we did it at work (vet's office) and we sedated them lightly. Most cats enjoy having less hair!! Especially if hairballs are an issue for her. I would say that those temps are not very high, we get over 100* here so it's a common thing we do around here. Whatever you decide, do your research with the groomers, or vet that will be doing the shaving. Find out how they go about the process, you'll feel much better about it.
