Q: I think my Chihuahua is Allergic to Grass?
Boots hates the wet grass on his paws in the mornings and nights when he has to go outside. I've noticed his paws are red, almost raw looking so this certainly answers why he hates to hit the wet grass when he has to go out. I've asked vets what to do and one suggested I keep a bowl of green tea by the back door and let him walk through it when he comes back in; well..you guessed it..not happening. Anything I might put on his feet I fear he will just lick off, any suggestions out there? Thanks in advance.

the best way to fight allergies is to make your dog healthier, in general. Proper nutrition is key, in that many allergens and immune confusing ingredients can be found in most commercial dog foods. Feeding a high quality food free from allergens and fillers can certainly help, even when the reactive allergen is, say, grass pollen. Also, many high quality foods contain natural supplements great for boosting the immune system and overall health, as well as natural antiinflammatory agents great for reducing swelling and itchiness associated with allergies.
