My dad's cat Kidd has been sad and stressed out ever since. I bought BOwser(the new kitten) from a PetSmart adoption table. I was so excited to get a new cat and everything was okay at first. Then Kidd started acting sad and not eating as much. this makes everyone really sad.. I can't just get rid of my new kitten but I do not know that to do about Kidd. We are trying to keep Bowser away from Kidd as much as we can. Has this happened to anyone?

Groom your older cat and then use the same brush on the younger cat so the younger at smells like the older one. I has worked with my 3 cats.

I'm pretty sure that they will get used to each other. First thing you may want to do is put the kitten where he will not bother the adult cat, and re-introduce them gradually. Typically, cats should be seperated for about a week, FeLV is a disease that is extremely easy to pass from cat to cat. Has you cat been tested? Jinxie sends you good luck vibes.

Just give them time, also I read somewhere that if you take a damp cloth and wipe one cats face then rub it onto the other cats face and vice versa.Good luck:)

Cats don't like changes in their routine, and a kitten can be quite a nuisance to an adult cat. If Kidd isn't trying to hurt the kitten you should let them interact more. Just let Kidd go at his own pace, my cats usually adjust faster if I leave them alone to get acquainted with a newcomer.

Eventually they will adjust to each other. Just give it a little time. There is no reason to get rid of your new kitty. Good luck. They'll be inseparable in no time.
