Q: I feed my dogs Pedigree. Is that ok food???
I would love to feed my dogs Eukanuba and we did for a little while but our budget can't affored $40 every two weeks for dog and $20 a month for cat. I feed my labs Pedigree Adult Small Bites. Is this ok????

It's actually a terrible food, and you can do a lot better! It was also recently recalled, so it's dangerous. I feed Canidae ALS (a 5 star food on dogfoodanalysis.com if you follow that sort of thing), and pay about $50 every 6 weeks to feed two adult, medium-sized dogs. It doesn't have any crappy fillers or mystery meat, and I feel good about feeding it to my dogs.

one more thing to think about in deciding. If you wish you could afford a certain more expensive brand. Here is something to consider. If you pick a brand with less fillers, they won't need to eat as much to get what they need and feel full,etc. The "X" brand might take a cup for a feeding time, where as the "W" brand might take only 1/2 cup for feeding. You might find out that it really isn't more expensive in the long run as the "W" brand last longer.
