See if you can't find a low cost spay/neuter clinic in your area. Also see about getting a SNIP certificate. Google them.

log onto the site friendsofanimals.org They offer low cost spay/neuter. How it works is that you'll go online, provide an email and the zip code of where you live. They'll send you a list of all of the vets in the area that will accept their certificate. Once you have chosen one, then you purchase the certificate online.
