How to stop unwanted chewing?

I have an 11 week old german shepherd puppy and she keeps chewing on everything. She chews up toilet paper, she put a whole in my box spring, and she keeps chewing on power cords. She has a rope that I got for her to chew on and she uses it when you give it to her but she still tries chewing on everything else. She chews on power cords when there plugged in and I dont want her to get electracuted or anything. What can I do to stop the chewing before it becomes a bad habbit later?

Puppies don't know the difference between power cords & toys so they have a tendency to chew on everything. The main thing with the power cords is to protect your puppy. They make cord protectors & similar products that your either wrap around your cords or run your cords through. You can even run them through pvc pipe or something like that. Bitter Apple is an effective product to spray on things you don't what your puppy to chew on. There are several similar products out there that are equally effective. Also be sure to provide her with plenty of her own chew toys so she has an acceptable outlet. Crating her when you're not home to watch her is also a good idea.

she is probably just teething. there is a spray called bitter apple that makes things like wood tast bad to them. give her a chance to finish teething and make sure she cannot get to power chords. i have a bird that chews them. i keep them covered with newspaper but i doubt that will work on a dog
