Two things, hard work and dedication. Especially because you were interested in doing a bully breed you would have to carefully screen your potential adoptors. etc.

I would recommend first timers wanting to start a rescue to find a rescue that is already operating. Work with them a while to learn what they do, how they do it, the ins and outs. Maybe even foster for them for a while to get an idea of what it would be like to have rescue animals around all the time and work with them all the time. After you are comfortable and ready, I would look into getting a 501(c)3, things are so much easier if you are a non profit. Set you standards, stick to them, be real with people, take care of the animals, and do the best that you can do!
Good luck!
