I'm a groomer and I bathe and brush all my dogs about every week to week and a half. Always use a shampoo designed for dogs and make sure if your pup has longer hair that you brush any matts out before the bath and brush your pup anytime they get wet.

i give Oscar a bath more than once a month. we let him go outside and run around a little bit every day. he plays in the dirt..digging around and stuff so he gets dirty. i usually give him a bath about once every 2 weeks or so..depending on how bad he smells..lol. its been super freakn ridiculously hot in louisiana lately so sometimes i give him a bath in cooler water to cool him off a bit. just be careful as to how often you bathe him bc overbathing can dry his skin out and cause him to scratch a lot and he can get soars from it.
you will determine how long to bath Marley as he continues to get older.
just be patient and attentive ...you will do fine.
congratulations!
-good luck sweet heart!

as a groomer we tell our clients to bathe their dogs every 4-5 weeks, more then that can dry out their skin and always use a shampoo for dogs, I recomend puppy shampoo

I would say bathing him once a month should be fine, unless he gets really dirty. He's still a puppy so he shouldn't get that dirty. I would use regular shampoo unless he has fleas. Good luck!

At least once a month. At first I wouldn't use a flea and tick shampoo since it has so many chemicals. Instead find a shampoo for puppies that will be more gentle on their sensitve skin. While potty training though sometimes my puppy would roll around in his mess and I would have to give him a bath more often.

other people are saying not to give him a bath too often. i disagree with this . . . i give my dog a bath every 2 weeks. i don't use flea and tick shampoo at all . . . i use regular baby shampoo like johnson and johnson's. if you use medicine there is no need. and if you do use the flea/tick shampoo use it only once a month (or just read the bottles directions.)

for your puppy however it is going to depend on him and his size and your schedule. if you are too busy to give him a bath every week or 2 weeks or if he is too big to give a bath to all the time, just give him a bath when you can. for small puppies . . . i don't suggest giving baths till he is 8 wks, and then only every so often until he is about 3 months. at this point you can give him baths however frequently you like.

I would do it a couple times in the beginning so your puppy gets used to it.
Putting them in the tub , wetting them and drying them without using shampoo is perfect as to not overbathe them.
My adult dogs get baths about every 5-6 weeks.

It can vary how often your puppy will need a bath, but I would try not to give him a bath more than every month or 2 unless he gets dirty. Their skin can get dry if they are bathed too often. I wouldn't use the flea and tick shampoo for every bath, especially if you are going to use any type of preventative.

Maybe every other week but unless he gets dirty, I would only use water 1/2 the time, also when any shampoo is used, RINSE WELL, VERY WELL!
Congratulations!
