Q: How Much does eye surgery cost for cataracs?
Skitters my rat terrier is getting cataracs and is going blind I know that there is surgery for it but, I have heard that it is excpenceive how much is it? Also can you get a discount if your family has a low income?

Prices are different in different areas & from specialist to specialist. The surgery is done by a veterinary ophthalmologist. The range I've seen for bilateral cataract surgery with replacement lenses & meds is anywhere from $2000 to $3500. Check with any area vet schools to see if they have an ophthalmology department as prices should be cheaper.
