I just answered your question but hermit crabs and now I find you wanting a bird!? Slow down. Pick 1 and spend some time with that 1! Focus and enjoy your time with the 1 you pick. Don't want to get over whelmed! There will be time for more later.

Don't get a parakeet I had four, they are cannibals, very mean, and hard to train you want a cockatiel or a parrot.

From a reputable breeder and with the proper supplies don't expect to pay less than fifty dollars!
Bird- at least $15 (I charge $20 for hand raised)
Cage- If your lucky $35 (of course the bigger the better)
Toys, food and other supplies- another $35 or more
Attention- Priceless!!
