This mostly depends on the kind of food you are feeding and breed of dog you have. Generally a large or giant breed dog grows faster than a small breed therefore phosphorus, calcium and protein levels should be moderate. Some people recomend an adult diet. I personally feel a grain free diet is the best, it is the closest (commercially made) to the ancestrial diet. However some brands have a lot of protein, this you would have to do research on for the brand you might choose to feed. Taste of the Wild is one I feed, it has very moderate protein starting at 24% most puppy foods have 32% Some of the higher end grain free brands such as Orijen have grain free puppy foods with higher protein but the phosphorus and calcium levels are lower, these are what causes the bones of large breed pups to grow to fast. So to answer your question, the better the food, the less you would have to feed, a 10 wk old pup should eat between 3 to 4 times a day. Depending on the food, 2 1/2 to 41/2 cups is general.
