Q: How long does it take?

My cats are almost 2 years old and they are still in there kitten phase. How long does it usually take before they finally calm down or will they ever.
I had them both fixed and that seemed to help a little but they still tear everything up and won't let us sleep at night.
Help!

I have a 5 and 6 year old cat and they are still in their kitten phases during play. In fact I think my parents cats started calming down around 8 and 9 years old.

Depends on the cat and how much time you spend playing with it. I have 4 -- all about the same aga and two are very active and the other two not so much! I do think if you want to keep them young and healthy you need to play with them and keep them very active. I work at a shelter and I can't tell you the amount of fat cats that are turned in because the owner doesn't have time for them. You must MAKE time for them. Being a "fat cat" isn't a blessing.

I have a 6year old cat and a 1 year old caat. They both act like kittens at times. But never all the time. Maybe they are just hyper cats.I would love to have my cats be hyper all the time. My 6 year ld will lay around all day unless my kitten irraates her then she goes wild. Well hope that helps. Good Luck
