Q: How long after neutering a cat does it take the odor filled urine smell to go away?

Smokey got neutered on 9/10 and when I scoop the litter boxes I can immediately tell which box he used because of the odor. When will the smell stop? It is driving me absolutely mad!

Also, I used a very good litter but his urine's scent is just not being masked by the litter.

I hope someone has the answer...so tired of the stink!

The strong male urine odor can last up to 6 weeks, but you'll probably start noticing gradually the smell will become less and less. Technically, he is still fertile as well, so if you have any unspayed females you might want to keep them separate!

I don't have an answer - but since no one has helped - I would call the vet and ask.
Could it be he got infection? I have no idea. Sorry!

It takes a couple of months, but the smell will go away, I promise!
