I recently had to give up my american bulldog...my moms good friend took her in and said we could take her home whenever we had a new house but I'm sure the family is going to bond very well with her...I want what's best for her and I think it might be to leave her with that family but I really want her back..ehat should I do?

Do what is best for the dog. Can they provide for her better than you can? And secondly, did they get into this expecting to keep her? Do they want to keep her? It's unfortunate, but they are likely saving this dog's life by taking her in (bully breeds at the pound face stiff odds), so you have to balance the dog's needs, then the friend's needs, then your needs. Rough call.

Talk to the family! If they really love her and want to keep her, and you can see that she's bonded well, perhaps that's best for her.

I think if you think the dog wants to be with you than take him back.
