My husbands friend gave have us a dog unexpectedly. He is a greyhound. We love him now like family even if we olny had him for week. The only problem is that our whole family disagrees with each others choice of name. Maybe you could post some names or any pet name websites. How did you name your dog or cat? Thanks!

naming pets is always fun, i definitally DO NOT suggest naming it something common, like "lucky" or "max" or "angel" or names that your hear all the time. try to think of things that seem to match the dog's personality, maybe something it respoonds to? or maybe, like how both my parents named me and how my family named our newest dog Ginger, just choose the name that comes to mind when you see them, like that "she's definitally a ginger" kinda thing. i know one of my favorite names i've heard on a dog is Dunkin, which fits great cuz that dog loves sports and it's a sportyish name i think. something unique as a name and to the dog is usually a good way to go ^^
if your family doens't want to agree tho, and it's like kids and parents in the family, i would say parents have the final desicion, because they can usually agree with each other at least and will most likely have more say with how the dog is raised. that's how it is in my house, me and my brother and my parents have always disagree, so my parents get the final say, and it works out fine.
good luck with your new dog, hope he gets a name he likes as well as your whole family likes ^^

Did he have a name before? If so, maybe try something close to it so that he has an easier time learning it.
