My gut reaction was also to "get a trash can with a lid" (like Nikki B. wrote). Chetzer is my only "dumpster diver" and will take things out of the garbage cans that don't have lids on. There usually isn't anything in these uncovered cans that should interest him, but I'm more careful now that I know he will take plastic wrappers from DVD covers, etc.

My suggestions are to either get a covered trashcan or try storing the trash can in a cabinet or pantry.

I too have a dumpster diver the easiest thing is to put it away, even with a lid on she still managed to tip it over.

There might be sprays, but I have yet to hear of one that actually works? My first reaction is that of the others here.... get a trash can with a lid or like I do, put it in a cupboard. It definitely works! ;)
