We want to get an outdoor cat for our family. But theres a condition that we can only have one if we find a way to keep it from using our flower garden as a litter box...is that even possible?

Personally, I wouldn't get a cat to keep outdoors. There are so many risks to its well being; predators, getting hit by a car, FIV, etc. Years ago, I did have a cat and it was indoors and outdoors. It got bit and developed an abscess, which was difficult to treat..

cats belong indoors, for more reasons than to keep them out of your flower beds. Cats outdoors only live one third the lifespan of those kept inside.

I think if your truthful with a reputable rescue, they won't & shouldn't give you a cat to let loose, their are enough "stray's" they are trying to find real homes for pets.
