I don't know what other part your dog is, but a plott hound is pretty low maintenance. They don't shed much so a weekly brushing is sufficient. Use a natural bristle brush or a Zoom Groom. They shouldn't be bathed too often or their skin & hair can get dried out. Keep the ears clean & dry. Because they have floppy ears, they don't get as much air circulation & can get infections if moisture gets in there. Trim the nails when they start getting long. Other than that, the grooming is going to depend on whether your dog takes after a short-haired, non-shedding plott hound or the other breed(s) in its makeup.

Plotts have shortshair, and should be groomed with a pin brush or better yet a rubber brush. Dogs with long droopy ears need them cleaned often.
