Q: How do you feel about dogs playing with water bottles?

My dog loves to just walk up to you when you have a bottle of water and take it out of your hand. Before i let him get carried away i remove the wrapper and the lid. I also keep an eye on him to make sure he doesn't start eating it also. And it is a real cheap toy.

I think him playing with it is ok, as long as he doesn't eat it. You may want to teach him that he can only have it when given freely to him. It's not a good behavor to just let him take it.

I think as long as he is not aggresive when he takes the bottle from u I say let him play with it it would be cute to watch

We used to have to watch our old dog when you placed a water bottle within his reach. He would ever-so-gently unscrew the cap with his teeth without knocking the bottle over. Of course, he would leave dog slobber on the neck of the bottle. Ick! He also liked playing with the empty bottles as well, but he never stole a full bottle, only played with the empty ones once the cap was off.

I think it's alright for dogs to play with water bottles. My dog loves them also. It sounds like you are doing all the right things to keep your dog safe while enjoying his toy!!

I think it's fine if the dog plays with the bottle. I agree with the others about removing the label and cap, but also remove that round piece that the cap "unlocks" from the first time you open it. That would be easy to swallow. Our bloodhound loves an empty coffee can and a large peanut jar - better than any store bought toys!

Try putting a few pieces if your dog's kibble inside the bottle and then screw the cap on tight. Keeps our dog entertained for LONG time. It's entertaining for us as well!

I think it's a good thing-as long as you take the wrapper off, and make sure the lid is on real tight, or take off the lid. My dog loves the sound they make when he crunches it playing fetch.

Anytime I empty a plastic milk carton, I have a habit of stepping on it to crunch it up for the trash. Boo comes by and nabs it to chew on for a while like he's trying to get the last couple drops of milk. After a few minutes, he loses interest and into the trash it goes.
