Q: How do I get my rabbit to trust me?
Okay need advice: A few days ago I found A rabbit that someone dumped in A field, still in the cage (on A very HOT day :/ ) .. She is healthy and everything, and at first she was very nice with me .. but now that she is comfortable here, she is starting to literally attack me when I let her out of her cage. Whenever I walk, she runs after my feet .. if I put my hand by her, she tries to slap me. She's not that much of A bitter tho.. but Im wondering how I can stop that attitude before she does start to bite. I figure if her old owners could just dump her like that, they probally neglected her before that too, so I see why she is mean. but I would still like to stop it, so ANY advice would be great! thanks! :)

Like dogs and cats, rabbits need to be spayed or neutered. This behavior is very, very typical of an intact rabbit and quite possibly why she was dumped in the first place. Having her spayed with make her calmer, happier, and give a healthier and longer life.
Not many vets see exotics and of those, not many preform regular spay/neuter surgeries on them. You'll want to find a vet who does these surgeries regularly with a very low mortality rate, b/c if it's done right it shouldn't be risky.
This is an excellent source that walks you through what to look for and why spaying your rabbit is the right thing to do. It also has a ton of information that most rabbit owners are unaware of, but will make for a happier rabbit altogether. www.rabbit.org/faq/sections/spay-neuter.html

Has she been to a vet since you got her this is a good idea, also if you have a dog or cat I would put them in another room when the rabbit is out even if they are nice to her she may feel threatened by their presence, also do not approach her fast approach her slowly laydown and get on her level and just watch her let her come to you maybe offer her a treat every now and then so she knows you are a good person. You may also find a specailty groomer or bathe her so she feels clean and a bit happier. She is one big cutie. animals like rabbits can become scarred of you and be mean if they don't get enough attention although that was not the case with my hamster visous we thought it was just a cute and funny name until she bit some one. My dad had a rabbit named Carrot and he seemed to be very friendly the pet store he came from had spent alot of time with him and the other animals. She needs time to get used to you and everything new in her life I would find a rabbit expert online too or in your home town and talk to them. Good luck!
